Happy Hallo-Wine!

Happy Hallo-Wine!

With Halloween only a couple of days away, fall is in full swing here in Niagara, which means it’s the PERFECT time to come visit some of your favourite wineries.  Who needs candy when wine is involved? Some of our favourites include:

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery

A beautiful winery set in St. David’s Bench in Niagara, Ontario – Ravine sets itself apart because of its approach to family – their goal simple; “to create a sustainable way to maintain their 100+ year old farm and continue to foster the legacy of their family upon it”.  The 34 acre winery is home to a delicious restaurant, a canning house (with groceries!) and an event facility.  You will not be disappointed with a trip to this winery, be it for a tasting of their fantastic wine or a place to stop and have lunch.

Reif Estate Winery

At Reif, their philosophy is simple – “that great wines start in the vineyard”. This winery officially opened its doors in 1982, and has enjoyed many successes since then, including the Best Canadian Winery in 2002 by a wine and spirit international competition.  This family owned winery is located in Niagara-On-The-Lake and is a definite visit for wine enthusiasts.

Flat Rock Cellars

Flat Rock is here for 2 reasons; “First, [they] are here to make great wine. Second, [they] are here to offer you a truly personal wine experience”. Dedicated to fun and lack of pretention, this is a great winery to visit. They boast breathtaking views of the Niagara peninsula, and on a clear day, you can see Toronto. Enjoy the great atmosphere & learn a little about wine too!

Three words are used to describe Stratus – stylish, warm, and elegant.  They welcome you not only to take part in the wine process, but to an experience like no other.  With a goal to be one of the world’s most sustainable wineries, from the way it was built to the way it operates daily, Stratus is a must visit for wine enthusiasts with a passion for sustainability.

Pillitteri Estates Winery

Pillitteri – where old world and new world meet.  If you have an interest or even just a curiosity about Icewine, this is the winery for you, as Pillitteri is the world’s largest estate producer. Located in the middle of wine country in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Pillitteri is always a favourite stop for tours or those exploring on their own.

There is no better time like the present to start planning your trip to Niagara to experience these and so many other wineries located in the beautiful Niagara Peninsula.  To start planning your wine getaway now, look no further than a stay at The Best Western Plus Cairn Croft Hotel, located on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
